ACCREDITATION OF QUALIFICATIONS
ICAN Accreditation involves a thorough evaluation of the course content, delivery modes, and quality assurance arrangements. The course is then benchmarked against the Framework for Higher Education Qualifications Degree-Awarding Bodies in England, Wales and Northern Ireland (FHEQ), the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and the European Qualification Framework (EQF) qualification systems. Courses will also be benchmarked against the UK National Occupational Standards (NOS). After the evaluation, the course is assigned a benchmarked level (e.g. Level 3) and credit value, if applicable, to provide students and employees with information about the level of difficulty and size of their course of study.
ICAN Accreditation package offers:

Please fill in the Course Accreditation interest form below or get in touch by phone to register your interest.
STEP 2 – The Application
The Course Approval application documents and guidance notes will be forwarded to your organisation. Please note that your programme must be approved by ICAN before any learner registrations can be made.
STEP 3 – Assessment of Application
A ICAN panel with academic and specific industry expertise will consider the material submitted. As a result the application will either be referred for a visit (Stage 4) or an Action Plan may be provided to the centre in order to assist them in meeting the requirements of the Course Approval. Additional information may be requested in both cases.
STEP 4 – Course Approval Visit
In most cases a Course Approval Visit will be required as part of the decision-making process. This visit will be arranged with your organisation in advance and once all payment has been received. The main purpose of the Course Approval Visit is to discuss the application with staff and review resources and facilities. We might request clarification if specific issues are raised by ICAN members at the visit, otherwise the application progresses to Stage 5.
STEP 5 – Course Approval Decision
The ICAN panel will review the course(s) submitted and if satisfied with all details, an offer to licence the course for a given period will be made subject to any Conditions and/or Recommendation agreed. A timescale for on-going review will be set and visits planned to meet and support tutors and provide seminars to students if.
Once Course Approval has been granted, the centre will be allowed to use the ICAN logo. Please note: All uses of the ICAN logo must be approved beforehand.
